Senior Civil Engineer - Infrastructure Development

About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Civil Engineer to join their team in Bloemfontein , specializing in infrastructure development. This role is critical for overseeing the planning, design, and implementation of essential public infrastructure projects, including roads, water supply, and sanitation systems. You will work closely with municipal authorities, project managers, and construction teams to ensure successful project delivery. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a comprehensive understanding of civil engineering principles, and a commitment to developing robust infrastructure that serves the community, working within a professional and collaborative office environment in the heart of the Free State.

• Lead the design and project management of various civil infrastructure projects, such as roads, bridges, water distribution networks, and wastewater systems.
• Prepare detailed engineering designs, tender documents, and construction supervision plans.
• Conduct site investigations, feasibility studies, and impact assessments for proposed developments.
• Coordinate with stakeholders, including clients, government bodies, and contractors, throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure all projects comply with relevant engineering standards, environmental regulations, and safety protocols.
• Oversee construction activities, ensuring quality control and adherence to project specifications.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and technical staff within the civil engineering department.

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
• A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in infrastructure design and project management.
• Proficiency in civil engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Civil Designer).
• Strong knowledge of road design, water and wastewater systems, and stormwater management.
• Demonstrated experience in managing construction projects and supervising site works.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) registration with ECSA is required.
