About the Role
Our client is seeking a dynamic Chemical Engineer with strong project management capabilities to oversee capital projects from conception to completion in Bloemfontein . This role requires a blend of technical expertise in chemical processes and proven ability to manage project scope, budget, schedule, and resources effectively. You will be responsible for ensuring that projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and meet all technical specifications.
This is a key leadership position within the engineering department, driving critical expansion and upgrade initiatives for the company in Bloemfontein .
- Manage the planning, execution, and closure of capital projects within the chemical processing domain.
- Develop project scopes, detailed budgets, and master schedules.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, engineering disciplines, contractors, and vendors.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements throughout project life cycles.
- Oversee project risk management, quality control, and change management processes.
- Provide technical guidance and leadership to project teams.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering .
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in chemical engineering, with at least 4 years in project management roles.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex capital projects in the chemical industry.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques (e.g., PMP certification is a plus).
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities in Bloemfontein .
