About the Role
Our client requires a qualified and experienced Structural Engineer to join their dynamic team in Bloemfontein , focusing on the design and analysis of structural elements for both commercial and residential buildings. You will be responsible for ensuring the safety, stability, and integrity of structures, applying advanced engineering principles and innovative design solutions. This role involves close collaboration with architects, project managers, and construction teams to deliver projects that meet stringent building codes and client requirements.
You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of challenging projects, contributing to the built environment with robust and efficient structural designs, and working directly on-site as needed.
- Perform structural analysis and design for new constructions and renovations of commercial and residential buildings.
- Develop detailed structural drawings, calculations, and specifications.
- Ensure designs comply with national building codes, standards, and regulations.
- Liaise with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to coordinate structural requirements.
- Conduct site inspections to verify construction meets design specifications and address any structural issues.
- Review and approve shop drawings and material submittals.
- Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a structural specialization.
- Professional Engineer (Pr.Eng) registration with ECSA or equivalent is essential.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in structural design.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., SAP
2000, Etabs, STAAD.Pro). - Thorough understanding of steel, concrete, and timber design principles.
