Chemical Engineer - Project Management Support

About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Chemical Engineer to support their project management office in Bloemfontein . This role is vital in assisting with the planning, execution, and monitoring of chemical engineering projects. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This hybrid position allows for effective collaboration both in person and remotely, contributing to the successful delivery of diverse engineering initiatives.

• Assist project managers in developing project plans, schedules, and budgets.
• Track project progress, identify deviations, and support the implementation of corrective actions.
• Coordinate project-related activities, including site visits, vendor meetings, and technical reviews.
• Prepare project status reports, documentation, and meeting minutes.
• Support the procurement and logistics processes for project materials and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• 1-3 years of experience in project coordination or a support role within an engineering environment.
• Familiarity with project management principles and methodologies.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Asana) is advantageous.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid team based in Bloemfontein .
