Mechanical Design Engineer - Industrial Machinery

About the Role

Our client, a leading manufacturer of specialized industrial machinery, is seeking a creative and meticulous Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Bloemfontein. This role is focused on the design and development of innovative, high-performance machinery used in various industrial applications. You will be responsible for taking concepts through to production, ensuring designs are robust, reliable, and meet client specifications.

• Design and develop new industrial machinery and improve existing designs, from concept to final production drawings.
• Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and 2D manufacturing drawings using CAD software.
• Conduct component selection , calculations for stress, load, and durability, and perform basic simulation analysis.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers, software developers, and manufacturing personnel to ensure integrated system functionality.
• Prepare technical documentation, including user manuals and maintenance guides.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant safety standards and regulations for industrial equipment.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in mechanical design, specifically with industrial machinery or complex mechanical systems.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., Inventor, Solid Works).
• Good understanding of mechanical components, mechanisms, power transmission, and material properties.
• Ability to perform engineering calculations and basic analysis for design validation.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving capabilities.
