About the Role
Our client is seeking a talented Automotive Mechanical Engineer to join their innovative team in Bloemfontein . This role offers a flexible hybrid work arrangement, balancing remote productivity with essential on-site collaboration. You will be involved in the design, development, and testing of automotive components and systems, contributing to the next generation of vehicles. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of automotive engineering principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for the automotive industry.
You will work closely with design, testing, and manufacturing departments to ensure product quality and performance.
- Design and develop mechanical components for automotive applications, including powertrain, chassis, and body systems.
- Perform stress analysis , thermal analysis, and vibration studies using CAE tools to validate designs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, resolve design issues, and support product validation.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation for manufacturing and assembly.
- Conduct physical testing of components and systems, analyzing results and recommending design improvements.
- Stay abreast of the latest automotive technologies and industry trends to drive innovation.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Engineering.
- 3-5 years of experience in the automotive industry, with a focus on mechanical design.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., CATIA, Siemens NX) and simulation tools.
- Knowledge of automotive standards, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with vehicle testing and validation procedures.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work effectively in a hybrid team environment.
