Civil Engineering Technician - Roads and Stormwater

Our client is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Civil Engineering Technician to support their infrastructure development team, focusing on roads and stormwater projects in Bloemfontein . You will be involved in the design, planning, and supervision of civil works, ensuring that projects meet technical specifications and regulatory requirements. This role requires strong technical skills, the ability to work effectively within a team, and a commitment to delivering high-quality infrastructure solutions for the Free State province.

You will contribute to essential public works, gaining valuable experience in road design and drainage systems.

• Assist in the design and development of road layouts, geometric design, and pavement design.
• Prepare detailed drawings, plans, and specifications for road and stormwater infrastructure.
• Conduct site investigations, surveys, and assessments for new projects.
• Supervise construction activities, ensuring adherence to designs and quality standards.
• Perform calculations for earthworks, drainage, and traffic management components.
• Collaborate with engineers and other team members on project execution and problem-solving.

• National Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in civil engineering, specifically with roads and stormwater projects.
• Proficiency in relevant design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, or similar.
• Good understanding of South African road design standards and municipal requirements.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
