Reservoir Engineer - Enhanced Oil Recovery

Our client is seeking a specialized Reservoir Engineer with expertise in Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) techniques to join their team in Bloemfontein . This role focuses on maximizing hydrocarbon recovery from existing fields through the application of advanced engineering principles and innovative EOR methods. You will be instrumental in developing strategies that extend the life and productivity of mature reservoirs within the Free State province.

The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of reservoir physics, fluid flow, and the application of various EOR processes.

• Conduct detailed reservoir studies to assess the viability of EOR projects (e.g., thermal, chemical, gas injection).
• Develop and calibrate reservoir simulation models to predict EOR performance and optimize injection strategies.
• Design and implement pilot EOR projects and scale up successful operations.
• Analyze production data from EOR projects to monitor performance and make necessary adjustments.
• Evaluate the economic feasibility of EOR proposals and provide recommendations.
• Collaborate with geoscience and production teams to integrate EOR plans into overall field development strategies.

• Master's degree or PhD in Petroleum Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in reservoir engineering , with a significant focus on Enhanced Oil Recovery techniques.
• Proven experience with reservoir simulation software and EOR process modeling.
• Strong understanding of fluid properties, phase behavior, and reservoir fluid flow dynamics.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences in Bloemfontein .
