Mechanical Design Engineer - Industrial Equipment

Our client is looking for a creative and detail-oriented Mechanical Design Engineer to contribute to their operations in Bloemfontein. This role focuses on the design and development of robust industrial equipment, ensuring functionality, efficiency, and durability. You will be involved in all stages of the design process, from initial concept generation and feasibility studies to detailed design, prototyping, and testing. • Design and develop new industrial equipment and machinery, optimizing for performance, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
• Create detailed 3D models, 2D drawings, and bills of materials using CAD software.
• Conduct engineering calculations and simulations to verify design integrity and performance.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and assembly teams to ensure designs are producible and meet quality standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve design-related issues during prototyping, testing, and production phases.
• Research and evaluate new technologies and materials to enhance product design and functionality.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
• 3-5 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably with industrial equipment.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, Inventor) and basic understanding of FEA.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, welding, and fabrication.
• Strong understanding of mechanical principles, including stress, strain, and dynamics.
