Senior Telecom Network Engineer

Our client, a leading telecommunications provider, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Telecom Network Engineer to join their dynamic team in Bloemfontein, Free State . This is a critical role focused on the design, implementation, and maintenance of our advanced telecommunications infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of current network technologies and a proven track record of successfully managing complex network projects.

You will play a pivotal part in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our network services, contributing directly to the company's success in delivering top-tier connectivity solutions across the region.

• Design, configure, and deploy robust and scalable telecommunications networks, including fiber optic, cellular, and microwave systems.
• Perform network performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis to resolve issues promptly.
• Develop and implement network security measures to protect against threats and ensure data integrity.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, sales, and customer support, to align network capabilities with business objectives.
• Manage network upgrade projects, ensuring minimal disruption to services.
• Create and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and operational procedures.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices to continuously improve network infrastructure.

• A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in telecommunications network engineering.
• Proficiency in network protocols such as TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and others relevant to telecom environments.
• Hands-on experience with network hardware from major vendors (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Huawei).
• Strong understanding of wireless technologies (4G/5G) and/or fiber optics.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
• Experience with network simulation and analysis tools is a plus.
