Civil Engineer - Transportation Infrastructure

Our client, a well-established engineering firm, is actively seeking a motivated Civil Engineer to join their transportation infrastructure division based in Bloemfontein, Free State. This role involves the design, planning, and project management of various transportation projects, including roads, highways, intersections, and related infrastructure. You will work within a dedicated team to deliver high-quality transportation solutions that enhance mobility and safety across the region.

• Design and develop plans for road and highway projects, including geometric design, pavement design, and traffic management.
• Prepare technical specifications, contract documents, and cost estimates.
• Conduct site investigations, traffic studies, and feasibility analyses.
• Oversee construction activities for transportation projects, ensuring quality and adherence to schedules.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including surveyors, urban planners, and environmental specialists.
• Liaise with clients, government authorities, and contractors.
• Ensure compliance with relevant engineering standards, SANS codes, and environmental regulations.
• Utilize CAD and other specialized software for design and analysis.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians on transportation projects.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) or Technologist (Pr Tech Eng) registration with ECSA.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation engineering and infrastructure design.
• Proven experience in road design, intersection design, and traffic engineering principles.
• Proficiency in relevant design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, and Pavement Engineering software.
• Solid understanding of South African transportation standards and guidelines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
• Willingness to undertake site visits within Bloemfontein, Free State.
