- Registered Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) or equivalent Professional Accountant recognised by a professional body in South Africa.
- At least 8 years’ relevant financial management experience, including a minimum of 3 years at senior management level.
- Experience in Higher Education will be an advantage.
- Strong understanding and practical application of King governance principles, particularly King V.
- Demonstrated experience engaging with Boards and/or Council.
- Excellent strategic, financial, commercial and operational leadership capabilities.
- In-depth knowledge of IFRS, the Tax Act and the Higher Education Act.
- Knowledge and experience of Integrated Tertiary System (ITS) or a reputable equivalent ERP system.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Ability to operate strategically and innovatively within a complex and changing institutional environment.
- Master’s qualification.
- CA(SA) registration.
- At least 10 years’ relevant financial experience, including 5 years at senior management level, preferably within Higher Education.
