Financial Accountant

A well-established company is seeking a Financial Accountant to join its finance team. This exciting opportunity is suited to a hands-on accounting professional with completed articles and strong financial reporting experience.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing key accounting processes, ensuring VAT compliance, overseeing procurement-related financial activities, and leading finance staff. • Prepare and review monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Manage month-end and year-end accounting processes.
• Process and review journals and reconciliations.
• Ensure VAT compliance and accurate submissions.
• Oversee procurement-related financial transactions and controls.
• Supervise and support finance team members.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Support annual audits and statutory reporting requirements.
• Identify and implement process improvements within the finance function.
• Provide financial analysis and recommendations to management.

• BCom Accounting Degree.
• Completed SAICA or SAIPA Articles.
• Minimum 5 years' post-articles experience.
• Previous people management experience.
• Strong understanding of VAT and financial compliance requirements.
• Experience managing journals, reconciliations, and financial reporting processes.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with Build Smart advantageous.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
