Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Blockchain Security Engineer to join their growing security team in Bloemfontein . In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of our blockchain infrastructure and applications. You will identify potential vulnerabilities, implement robust security measures, and respond to security incidents within the rapidly evolving cryptocurrency landscape. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your expertise in cybersecurity to the unique challenges of blockchain technology, protecting digital assets and user data, and contributing to a secure and trusted platform for our users, collaborating closely with the development and operations teams.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct security audits and code reviews for smart contracts and blockchain protocols.
- Implement and manage security controls for blockchain networks and related infrastructure.
- Monitor network activity for threats and anomalies, responding to security incidents effectively.
- Develop and maintain security documentation, policies, and procedures related to blockchain operations.
- Research and stay current with emerging security threats and vulnerabilities in the cryptocurrency space.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with a specialization in blockchain security or secure coding practices.
- Proficiency in security assessment tools and techniques relevant to smart contracts and distributed systems.
- Strong understanding of cryptography, consensus mechanisms, and common blockchain attack vectors.
- Experience with incident response and forensic analysis is a plus.
