Our client is looking for a principled and forward-thinking AI Ethics & Governance Specialist to join their team in Bloemfontein . In this critical role, you will develop and implement frameworks to ensure the responsible and ethical development and deployment of AI technologies. You will work closely with legal, compliance, and technical teams to mitigate risks associated with AI bias, privacy, and transparency.
This position is crucial for building trust and ensuring that our client's AI initiatives are aligned with societal values and regulatory requirements, fostering a culture of responsible innovation.
- Develop and refine policies, guidelines, and best practices for ethical AI development and deployment.
- Conduct AI impact assessments and risk analyses to identify and mitigate potential ethical concerns.
- Advise technical teams on building fair, transparent, and accountable AI systems.
- Monitor AI systems for bias and performance drift, recommending corrective actions.
- Stay updated on global regulations, standards, and evolving ethical considerations in AI.
- Collaborate with legal, compliance, and business units to ensure adherence to ethical principles and governance frameworks.
- Advanced degree in Law, Ethics, Public Policy, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience in AI ethics, responsible AI, or technology governance.
- Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts, including bias, fairness, and explainability.
- Familiarity with relevant regulations and ethical frameworks related to AI.
- Excellent analytical, research, and communication skills.
- Ability to translate complex ethical and technical concepts into actionable guidance.
