Senior Business Intelligence Analyst

Our client, a leading financial services institution, is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior Business Intelligence Analyst to join their team. This role, based in Bloemfontein, Free State , is integral to transforming raw data into actionable business insights that drive strategic decision-making. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions, including dashboards, reports, and analytical models.

The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and BI tools, coupled with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. You will work closely with various business units to understand their reporting needs and translate them into effective BI solutions. • Design, develop, and maintain business intelligence dashboards and reports using BI tools.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications for BI solutions.
• Develop and optimize ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into the data warehouse.
• Perform data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that support business objectives.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics.
• Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across all BI solutions.
• Provide training and support to end-users on BI tools and reports.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data and BI systems.
• Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging technologies in business intelligence.
• Contribute to the development of the data governance framework.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in business intelligence or data analysis.
• Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
• Experience with BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Qlik View, or similar.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and methodologies (e.g., Kimball, Inmon).
• Experience with ETL tools (e.g., SSIS, Informatica, Talend).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex data insights clearly.
• Experience with data modeling is a plus.
