Our client is seeking a specialized Procurement Specialist focusing on Fleet and Equipment to join their team in Bloemfontein. This role is crucial for managing the acquisition, maintenance contracts, and disposal of the company's vehicle and machinery assets. You will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing contracts to ensure cost-effectiveness, compliance, and operational uptime. This position requires a strategic thinker with expertise in the specific nuances of procuring and managing specialized assets.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the end-to-end procurement process for fleet vehicles, heavy machinery, and related equipment.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and service providers in the automotive and equipment sectors.
- Negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and service level agreements for all fleet and equipment purchases and leases.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies regarding asset acquisition and disposal.
- Monitor market trends and technological advancements in fleet and equipment to inform procurement decisions.
- Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to forecast needs and manage asset life cycles effectively.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
- 4-6 years of experience in procurement, with a specialization in fleet and equipment management.
- Proven experience in negotiating complex contracts with automotive and equipment suppliers.
- Knowledge of fleet management software and asset tracking systems.
- Strong understanding of vehicle and equipment maintenance requirements and regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on TCO (Total Cost of Ownership).
