Our client is seeking a skilled Process Development Engineer to enhance their pharmaceutical manufacturing operations in Bloemfontein . This role focuses on optimizing existing manufacturing processes and developing robust new ones to ensure efficient, high-quality production of pharmaceutical products. You will work on scaling up laboratory processes to pilot and commercial scale, troubleshooting production issues, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. Your expertise will be vital in maintaining high standards of manufacturing excellence for the company in the Free State .
Key Responsibilities- Develop, optimize, and scale-up pharmaceutical manufacturing processes from laboratory to commercial production.
- Design and execute experiments to improve process efficiency, yield, and product quality.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing deviations and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
- Prepare process development reports, batch records, and technology transfer documentation.
- Ensure all process development activities comply with cGMP regulations and safety standards.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, and production teams to implement process changes.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in process development or chemical engineering within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Proven experience in process scale-up, validation, and optimization.
- Familiarity with pharmaceutical unit operations and equipment.
- Strong understanding of cGMP regulations and process safety principles.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
