Process Plant Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned Process Plant Manager to lead the operations of their mineral processing facility in Welkom. This leadership role is responsible for optimizing plant efficiency, ensuring product quality, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and environmental compliance. You will oversee all aspects of plant operations, including production, maintenance, and personnel management, driving continuous improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will play a key role in maximizing the profitability and operational effectiveness of the processing plant in the Free State goldfields.

• Manage day-to-day operations of the mineral processing plant, ensuring production targets are met.
• Implement and oversee quality control procedures to maintain high product standards.
• Develop and manage the plant's operational budget and capital expenditure plans.
• Lead and mentor the plant operations team, fostering a culture of safety and efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations relevant to the mining industry.

• BEng or BSc in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in mineral processing operations, with at least 3 years in a management capacity.
• Proven track record in optimizing plant performance and managing complex processing circuits.
• Strong understanding of metallurgical processes and plant maintenance.
• Excellent leadership, decision-making, and stakeholder management skills.
