Our client is seeking a skilled Chemical Engineer specializing in petrochemicals to join their operational team in Bloemfontein . This role is essential for managing and optimizing the complex processes involved in petrochemical production. You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient, safe, and compliant operation of production units, troubleshooting issues, and contributing to process improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities- Oversee daily operations of petrochemical production units, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to schedules.
- Monitor process variables, analyze performance data, and implement adjustments to maximize efficiency and product quality.
- Troubleshoot operational problems, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements specific to petrochemical operations.
- Participate in process hazard analyses (PHAs) and recommend safety improvements.
- Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to develop and execute effective preventative maintenance programs.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the petrochemical industry, with a strong understanding of relevant processes (e.g., refining, cracking, polymerization).
- Proficiency in process control systems and data analysis tools.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in petrochemical environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a plant environment, including rotating shifts if required.
