Development Officer

About the Role

Our client, a dynamic charity operating in Bloemfontein , seeks a proactive and relationship-focused Development Officer to join their fundraising team. This role will focus on cultivating and stewarding relationships with individual donors, helping to grow the organization's supporter base and increase funding for its programs. You will be instrumental in engaging with donors, communicating the impact of their contributions, and ensuring a positive giving experience.

• Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward individual donors.
• Develop and implement strategies to increase donor retention and upgrade giving levels.
• Plan and execute donor engagement events and communications.
• Manage a portfolio of key donors, ensuring personalized communication and stewardship.
• Collaborate with the marketing team on donor-focused campaigns and materials.
• Track donor interactions and manage donor database information accurately.

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
• 2-4 years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, or a related development role.
• Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with CRM systems for donor management.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
