Development Director - Social Services

Our client, a significant player in the Charity & Voluntary sector operating in Bloemfontein , is seeking a strategic and dynamic Development Director. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of fundraising, donor relations, and resource development to ensure the long-term sustainability and growth of the organization's critical services. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned development professional with a proven track record in securing major gifts, managing comprehensive campaigns, and building strong relationships with a diverse donor base.

• Develop and execute a comprehensive, multi-year fundraising plan to achieve annual goals in Bloemfontein.
• Lead the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major donors, corporate partners, and foundations.
• Oversee all aspects of fundraising events, campaigns, and planned giving programs.
• Manage and mentor the development team, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
• Develop and manage the development budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with the Board of Directors and key stakeholders to advance fundraising efforts.

• Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in non-profit development and fundraising, with a strong emphasis on major gifts and campaigns.
• Demonstrated success in leadership roles within the non-profit sector.
• Proven ability to develop and implement successful fundraising strategies and initiatives.
• Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Experience in strategic planning and budget management.
• Master's degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience is highly preferred.
