About the Role
Our client is actively seeking a talented and dedicated Research Scientist specializing in Biochemistry to join their pioneering research team based in Welkom . This role is integral to exploring novel biological pathways and developing innovative solutions in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors. You will conduct cutting-edge experiments, analyze complex biological data, and contribute to the advancement of our client's research pipeline.

- Design, execute, and optimize biochemical assays to investigate protein function and enzyme kinetics.
- Perform complex molecular biology techniques including cloning, PCR, and protein expression/purification.
- Analyze and interpret large datasets generated from high-throughput screening and other experimental methods.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including medicinal chemists and biologists, to advance drug discovery programs.
- Develop and implement new biochemical assays and methodologies to address emerging research questions.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, present findings at internal meetings, and contribute to scientific publications.
- Ph.D. in Biochemistry , Molecular Biology, or a related life sciences field.
- A minimum of 3 years of post-doctoral or industry experience in a relevant research setting.
- Proven expertise in protein purification, enzyme characterization, and biochemical assay development.
- Hands-on experience with various molecular biology techniques and biophysical methods.
- Strong understanding of data analysis and statistical principles applicable to biological research.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
