About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Research Scientist with expertise in analytical chemistry to join their state-of-the-art research facility in Welkom . This role is crucial for developing and validating sophisticated analytical methods to support a variety of research and quality control initiatives. You will be responsible for operating and maintaining advanced analytical instrumentation, interpreting complex data, and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of all analytical results.
The successful candidate will be a key contributor to our scientific endeavors in the Free State .
- Develop, optimize, and validate analytical methods using techniques such as HPLC, GC-MS, and spectroscopy.
- Perform routine and non-routine sample analysis, ensuring adherence to strict quality control standards.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain a wide range of analytical instruments.
- Interpret complex analytical data, troubleshoot instrument issues, and document all findings thoroughly.
- Collaborate with R&D teams to provide critical analytical support for new product development and process improvements.
- Contribute to the writing of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and technical reports.
- PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in analytical method development and validation.
- Expertise with chromatography (HPLC, GC) and mass spectrometry (MS) techniques.
- Experience with various spectroscopic methods (UV-Vis, IR, NMR) is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in data analysis software and laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
- Strong problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail for our Welkom laboratory.
