Research Assistant - Educational Psychology

About the Role

Our client is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant to support ongoing research projects in Educational Psychology at their Bloemfontein campus. This part-time position offers a valuable opportunity for an individual with a strong interest in research methodologies and learning sciences to gain practical experience. You will assist researchers with data collection, analysis, literature reviews, and administrative tasks related to various studies.

The role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a research team, contributing to significant academic findings.

• Assist in the design and implementation of research studies, including participant recruitment and scheduling.
• Conduct data collection using various methods, such as surveys, interviews, and observations.
• Perform data entry, cleaning, and preliminary analysis using statistical software.
• Conduct comprehensive literature searches and assist in synthesizing research findings.
• Provide general administrative support to the research team, including managing project documentation and correspondence.

• Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Education, or a related social science field.
• A Master's degree is advantageous.
• Previous experience in a research setting is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with qualitative and quantitative research methods and data analysis techniques.
• Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., SPSS, R, NVivo) is a plus.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and written communication skills.
