Senior Research Chemist - Organic Synthesis

Our client is seeking a talented Senior Research Chemist specializing in Organic Synthesis to join their team in Bloemfontein . This role is integral to the development of new chemical entities and the optimization of synthetic routes for novel compounds. You will be responsible for leading synthetic projects, troubleshooting complex reactions, and contributing to the innovation pipeline. • Design and execute multi-step synthetic routes for complex organic molecules.

• Characterize synthesized compounds using spectroscopic methods (NMR, MS, IR) and other analytical techniques.
• Troubleshoot synthetic challenges and develop innovative solutions to overcome obstacles.

• Maintain detailed laboratory notebooks and contribute to technical reports and publications.

• Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in synthetic organic chemistry, preferably in an industrial or academic research setting.
• Demonstrated expertise in a broad range of organic reactions and synthesis methodologies.
• Proficiency in modern spectroscopic and analytical techniques for structural elucidation and purity assessment.
