Senior Backend Developer - Microservices Architecture

About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Backend Developer with a strong background in Microservices Architecture to join their expanding IT and Software division in Bloemfontein . You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, high-performance backend services that power complex applications. This role requires a deep understanding of distributed systems and a passion for building robust, efficient, and maintainable code.

• Design, develop, and implement microservices using languages such as Java, Python, Node.js, or Go.
• Build and maintain robust APIs and data services that support frontend applications and third-party integrations.
• Optimize application performance, database queries, and system architecture for scalability and reliability.
• Implement best practices for microservices development, including containerization, orchestration, and service discovery.
• Write clean, well-tested code and participate actively in code reviews and architectural discussions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience in backend software development, with significant experience in microservices.
