Senior Software Architect

Our client is seeking a visionary Senior Software Architect to lead the design and evolution of their software systems in Bloemfontein . This senior role requires a deep understanding of software engineering principles, architectural patterns, and emerging technologies. You will be responsible for defining technical strategies, establishing architectural standards, and guiding development teams to build scalable, maintainable, and robust applications. • Design and document scalable, reliable, and maintainable software architectures for new and existing systems.
• Define technical standards, best practices, and guidelines for software development across the organization.
• Evaluate and recommend appropriate technologies, frameworks, and tools to meet business and technical requirements.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into architectural designs.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams, ensuring adherence to architectural principles.
• Conduct architectural reviews and ensure the technical integrity of all software solutions.
• Identify and address technical debt and performance bottlenecks within the existing systems.

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in software development, with at least 5 years in a software architecture role.
• Proven track record of designing and delivering complex, enterprise-level software systems.
• Deep knowledge of various architectural patterns (e.g., microservices, event-driven, monolithic) and their trade-offs.
• Expertise in multiple programming languages and database technologies (SQL, No

• Strong understanding of cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and distributed systems.
