Senior Backend Developer - API Specialist

Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Backend Developer with a strong focus on API development to join their technology hub in Bloemfontein . This role is critical for designing, building, and maintaining robust, scalable, and secure APIs that power our client's diverse range of applications and services. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including front-end developers, product managers, and system architects, to deliver high-quality API solutions.

• Design, develop, and implement RESTful APIs and microservices with a focus on performance, scalability, and security.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of professional backend development experience, with a strong emphasis on API design.
• Proficiency in one or more backend programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, Node.js, Go).
• Extensive experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and understanding of API design best practices (e.g., OpenAPI/Swagger).
