Requirements
  • A detailed Curriculum Vitae.
  • Copies of your qualifications, or official proof of qualifications obtained (If you hold foreign qualifications, please include SAQA accreditation).
  • A copy of your identity document (South African  passport for foreign nationals).
  • Confirmation of employment in the form of a letter, appointment contract, service certificate, or recent payslip from your current or most recent employer (applicable to external applicants only).
Duties And Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement the hockey programme strategy aligned with UFS sport goals.
  • Manage all administrative functions of the hockey programme.
  • Grow participation at competitive, recreational and development levels.
  • Ensure compliance and governance with university policies and regulations, University Sport South Africa (USSA) regulations, South African Hockey Association (SAHA) rules, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Manage the club projects, events and activities.
  • Responsible for managing the hockey facilities and equipment.
  • Responsible for the financial administration of the club.
  • Responsible for the recruitment and retention of student athletes.
Inherent Requirements
  • A bachelor’s degree or a B-Tech degree on NQF Level 7 in the field of sport management or a related field (attach a copy).
  • A minimum of two (2) years relevant experience in Sport Management.
  • Safeguarding Certificate (attach a copy).
  • A valid driver’s license (attach a copy).
Recommendations
  • Three years of relevant experience in sport management, preferably hockey.
  • Honours degree on NQF Level 8 in the field of sport management or a related field (attach a copy).
  • An understanding of the university environment and South African Sport landscape.
