Intercity Bus Driver

About the Role

Our client is seeking a professional and safety-conscious Intercity Bus Driver to operate routes within and between major cities in the Free State and beyond. This position requires a high level of responsibility for passenger safety and comfort during long-distance journeys. You will be responsible for adhering to schedules, ensuring a smooth and pleasant travel experience for passengers, and maintaining the bus to the highest standards.

This role is perfect for experienced drivers who enjoy traveling and interacting with people from diverse backgrounds, contributing to reliable public transportation services in Bloemfontein and the surrounding province.

• Safely operate large passenger buses on scheduled intercity routes.
• Ensure the safety and comfort of all passengers during the journey.
• Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
• Conduct pre-trip inspections of the bus, checking fluids, tires, brakes, and safety equipment.
• Provide clear and courteous communication to passengers regarding schedules, stops, and any onboard information.
• Maintain accurate records of travel times, mileage, and any incidents.

• Valid professional driver's license (Code 10/C1 minimum, Code 14 preferred) with a passenger permit (PDP).
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience driving passenger buses or coaches.
• Excellent driving record and proven commitment to safety.
• Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and defensive driving techniques.
• Ability to remain alert and focused during long driving shifts.
• Good customer service and communication skills.
