Our client is actively seeking a proactive and highly organized Warehouse Chargehand to join their busy operations in Bloemfontein, Free State. The ideal candidate will bring strong problem-solving skills and a deep commitment to work values and ethics. If you are a results-oriented professional with extensive operational experience in a warehouse or distribution facility, this is a great opportunity to lead and coordinate a dynamic team.
To succeed in this role and ensure seamless warehouse operations, candidates must possess the following key competencies and technical skills:
- Technical & Operational Expertise: Warehouse Operations, Distribution Facility Management, Inventory Management (FIFO), Stock Rotation, Stock Counts, Goods Receipt & Dispatch (Maize and Finished Products), Housekeeping & Safety Standards, and Logistics Coordination.
- Performance & Leadership Traits:
- Problem-Solving & Proactivity: Strong ability to anticipate issues and implement proactive solutions to ensure seamless daily operations.
- Organization & Results Orientation: A highly organized approach to achieving warehouse targets and maintaining meticulously accurate records.
- Team Supervision & Training: Proven ability to supervise staff, train new workers on protocols, and coordinate effectively with both production and logistics teams.
- Ethics & Values: A steadfast commitment to upholding company work ethics and safety standards.
Requirements & Qualifications
- National Senior Certificate or equivalent to NQF 4.
- Supervisory experience is essential.
- 5 Years of extensive operational experience within a warehouse or distribution facility.
- Valid RSA driver's license with own transport.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of warehouse staff to guarantee the timely receipt, storage, and dispatch of maize and finished products.
- Maintain highly accurate inventory records and ensure proper stock rotation utilizing the FIFO method.
- Ensure all goods are correctly labelled and stored, and assist in the safe loading and offloading of materials and finished goods.
- Implement and strictly maintain housekeeping and safety standards throughout the facility.
- Conduct regular stock counts and accurately report any discrepancies.
- Liaise closely with production and logistics teams to ensure seamless daily operations.
- Train new warehouse workers on standard operating procedures and safety protocols.
- Consistently achieve set warehouse targets.
