Group Fitness Instructor – Life Time Inc.

The Group Fitness Instructor provides cutting‑edge group fitness instruction through a variety of entertaining, educational, and fun classes promoting fitness and positive self‑esteem in a safe environment. They act as a fitness resource for class participants and maintain positive relationships with members to encourage continued class attendance. The Group Fitness Instructor is responsible for consistently meeting daily class attendance goals as well as effectively promoting Life Time programs, products, and services.

We offer a wide range of class formats. As a Group Fitness Instructor you will lead and inspire members in the following categories:

  • STRENGTH: LIFT – Build Strength:
    Build Muscle. Strength training classes that combine music and movement to motivate members to lift more and develop a lifelong love of lifting.

  • STRENGTH: SHRED – Strength Circuits for Lean Muscles. A full‑body, no‑excuses workout that combines fun, simple, timed circuits with cardio drills to deliver efficient results.

  • STRENGTH: MAXOUT – Maximize Your Muscles. Minimize Your Limits. Life Time’s strength & conditioning brand that uses heavier weights, supersets, and a high‑energy max‑out challenge to push athletes to muscle burnout.

  • CARDIO: XTREME – Conditioning Challenges to HIIT Your Goals. Life Time’s ultimate conditioning brand delivering heart‑pumping HIIT classes.

  • CARDIO: REMIXX – Feel Good, Heart Pumping Cardio. A high‑energy cardio class featuring the hottest remixes to keep members dancing.

  • BOXING / KICKBOXING: STRIKE – Strike with Precision, Box with Passion. A cardio‑focused class that adds grit and attitude to keep members moving.

  • BARRE: LIFE BARRE – Strength & Grace Align. Rooted in ballet, these high‑rep isometric movements engage muscles for better posture and motion.

  • CYCLE: AMP – Ride to the Rhythm, Sweat to the Beat. An immersive ride that marries music and movement.

  • CYCLE: EDG – Find Your EDG with Music and Metrics. Rhythm meets results for a data‑driven, high‑intensity spin experience.

  • CYCLE: PWR – Athletic Endurance on the Bike. Specific progressions unlock personal potential on the bike.

  • CYCLE: DANZE – Move Unapologetically to the Beat. A dance‑class platform celebrating diversity across Hip Hop, Latin Fusion, and more.

  • YOGA: SURRENDER YIN – A slow, meditative practice to increase joint mobility and calm the mind.

  • YOGA: ROOT HATHA – Master the mind–body connection with radical self‑acceptance and deep breath work.

  • YOGA: FLOW VINYASA – A breath‑centered Vinyasa Flow that builds strength, mobility, and mental clarity.

  • ARORA – ACCOUNTABILITY. COMMUNITY. POSSIBILITY. A comprehensive program for healthy aging with options ranging from AQUA to DANZE, GENTLE YOGA to TOTAL BODY.

  • SGT – GTX:
    Cardio. Strength. Results.
    The ultimate 50/50 cardio & strength guided training with heart‑rate‑based interval and resistance coaching.

  • SGT – ULTRA FIT:
    Achieve Extraordinary.
    Alternates short sprints with strength‑balance moves to build confidence and sprint performance.

  • SGT – ALPHA:

    Full‑body strength & conditioning that challenges limits through progressive workouts and community coaching.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop positive relationships with class participants by teaching challenging, entertaining classes.
  • Educate participants on correct form and alternative moves throughout the fitness routine.
  • Listen attentively, answer questions, and engage in conversation before and after classes.
  • Clean and organize studio space after each class.
  • Provide current music that entertains and motivates while ensuring appropriate language.
  • Promote Life Time programs, products, and services, encouraging participation in Lifestyle classes.

Position Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1 or more years of fitness instructor experience.
  • CPR/AED Certification.
  • Minimum of one of the following group‑exercise certifications: NASM, ACE, AFAA, AEA.
  • Ability to perform aerobic activity for the duration of a class (standing, walking, climbing, balancing, running, crawling, kneeling).
  • Ability to routinely lift 50 pounds and occasionally 100 pounds.
  • Ability to perform exercises specific to the assigned class.
