We’re hiring on behalf of Liquid Piston (LPI) — a cutting‑edge company reinventing the internal combustion engine. Their patented rotary X‑engine platform delivers ultra‑efficient, compact, and power‑dense engines for aerospace, defense, commercial, and mobility applications.

LPI is looking for a hands‑on, strategic engineering leader to drive the development of their next‑generation engine—from prototype to production.

As Chief Engineer, you’ll lead the technical execution of a major engine program. You’ll collaborate with cross‑functional teams, oversee design and testing, and help shape the future of propulsion. This is a lab‑driven, R&D‑heavy role with high visibility and impact.

• Own the end‑to‑end development of a next‑gen rotary engine
• Lead and grow a multidisciplinary engineering team
• Oversee engine design, integration, testing, and validation
• Partner with leadership to define the product roadmap
• Interface with customers, partners, and stakeholders
• Drive innovation in performance, manufacturability, and cost

• 10+ years leading engine or mechanical systems development
• Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s or PhD preferred)
• Deep expertise in combustion engines, rotary systems, thermofluids
• Strong hands‑on prototyping and lab‑based engineering experience
• Skilled in CAD/simulation tools (Solid Works, FEA, etc.)
• Proven team leadership and cross‑functional collaboration
