IT Systems Engineer – One Owns IT

You’ll be the architect, troubleshooter, and innovator behind all things IT:

• Own the infrastructure:
  Design, install, and maintain servers, routers, switches, access points, and software in both Windows and Linux environments.
• Lead tech decisions:
  Work directly with the CEO to identify, source, and implement new IT assets and tools.
• Keep our client connected:
  Provide hands‑on desktop and network support across the organization.
• Solve problems fast:
  Diagnose and resolve technical issues for employees and management.
• Stay secure:
  Maintain compliance with NIST 800-171 and CMMC 2.0, and stay ahead of cybersecurity best practices.
• Experiment and innovate:
  Get involved with local LLM / ML implementations and automation tools.

We’re looking for someone who’s as comfortable getting into the weeds as they are taking the lead. Must‑Have

Skills:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, IT, or related field and 7‑15 years of relevant experience.
• Strong foundation in networking, servers, and system security.
• Experience with Windows Server (Domain, DNS, SSO, backups) and Linux (installation, configuration, scripting, automation via Ansible).
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 / Exchange setup and troubleshooting.
• Some familiarity with NIST 800-171 and/or CMMC 2.0 frameworks.
• A “figure it out” mindset – you love challenges and learning on the fly.
• Must live within commuting distance of Bloomfield, CT (on‑site role).
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship).

• CCNA or other networking certifications.
• HPC setup and database management experience (MySQL, Dev Ops tools, Docker/Kubernetes).
• Exposure to Mechanical Engineering software (Solid Works, ANSYS, MATLAB).
• Interest or experience in Machine Learning / Data Science (Python, Tensor Flow, SQL Alchemy, etc.).
