Join The Home Depot as a Cashier. Cashiers provide fast, friendly, accurate and safe service by processing Checkout and Return transactions and by monitoring and maintaining the Self-Checkout area. They proactively seek product knowledge to help customers and identify selling opportunities and follow all policies and procedures to minimize shrink. A Head Cashier may position Cashiers and support them by expediting price checks and approving Point of Sale transactions and markdowns for mainline registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services and Tool Rental.

They provide first-level escalation for customer issues and assist in supervising, coaching and training Front End Associates by participating in the training of new Cashiers and using tools to coach and develop others. The preferred qualification for a Head Cashier is 1+ years of Cashier experience.

• Process Checkout and/or Return transactions.
• Monitor and maintain the Self-Checkout area.
• Proactively seek product knowledge to provide information and identify selling opportunities.
• Follow all policies and procedures to minimize shrink.
• Head Cashier responsibilities: expedite price checks, approve POS transactions and markdowns for mainline registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental.
• Provide first-level escalation for customer issues.
• Assist in supervision, coaching and training of other Front End Associates; participate in the training of new Cashiers and use available tools to coach and develop others.

• Preferred qualification: 1+ years of Cashier experience.
