JOB SUMMARY:

The primary purpose of this position is to assist the Chief Compliance Officer in the implementation and maintenance of company-wide performance improvement activities specific to accreditation and licensing standards. This individual will also perform a variety of tasks related to the Electronic Medical Records System (EMR).

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

The duties listed below reflect the general details considered necessary to describe the principal functions of the job as identified and shall not be considered as a detailed description of all work requirements that may be inherent in the position.

  • Review and update policies ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies.
  • Performs various audits and tracer activities to identify improvement opportunities and isolate trends.
  • Participate in quality assurance reviews/audits of client charts.
  • Accountable for reporting your findings of all audits you participate in and keep appropriate documentation.
  • Expected to make recommendations to meet compliance on any areas you find we may be. Expected to keep accurate documentation of quality assurance tasks you are assigned.
  • Deficient, or improvement is needed and assist in reviewing and revising policies and procedures.
  • Identifying quality assurance deficiencies and communicating clearly, professionally, and in a timely manner with the responsible party to ensure deficiency is corrected.
  • Acts as a liaison between Brookdale team members and EMR vendor in regard to system updates and administration.
  • Audits EMR system to ensure compliance standards are being met in regard to documentation by employees into the patient record.
  • Assist the Chief Compliance Officer in day-to-day administration and recordkeeping.
  • Prepares policies and procedures for regulatory visits.
  • Recommends changes in order to be in compliance with regulation changes.

KNOWLEDGE & EDUCATION

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
  • In-depth computer knowledge and experience.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to write competently.
  • Three years’ experience in a D&A treatment facility with direct experience relative to patient records.
  • Working knowledge of The Joint Commission and D.D.A.P. Standards.
