Position Overview: Loenbro is looking for an experienced skilled laborer to join our team. This position offers the opportunity to learn a new trade while assisting with the installation of insulation supports, insulating materials, surface claddings, and coatings on pipes, vessels, ductwork, and other mechanical systems. The role is focused on controlling heat loss or gain, providing personnel protection, frost protection, temperature regulation, noise control, and fire protection.
The Skilled Laborer will install and replace the materials used to insulate buildings and their mechanical systems to help control and maintain temperature. This work is done on the refinery.
Must be able to pass company pre-employment background check and pre-employment and random drug and alcohol tests.
Job Duties:
- Performs any combination of the following duties to assist workers in Insulation activities:
- Manually moves work pieces, tools, and supplies, or transports them using a hand truck.
- Install insulation products on various surfaces and systems.
- Adhere to instructions and guidelines with precision.
- Lift, move, and position work pieces as directed.
- Maintain current timecard and daily time sheet.
- Perform general cleanup and assist with supply management on the job site.
- Must use PPE properly while on job sites (hard hat, safety glasses, etc.) to adhere by all safety procedures.
- Adhere to all company standards and guidelines.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Skills/
Qualifications:
- Insulating experience preferred.
- GED or High School Diploma required.
- Experience with sheet metal, end cutting nippers, hammer, square tape measures, razor knife and cordless impact.
- Experience with operating heavy machinery (forklifts and man lifts).
- Skilled in math which includes adding and subtracting fractions.
- Climbing up and down stairs and ladders to both get in and out of trenches and up to elevated platforms (scaffolding at significant heights 25ft).
- Lifting necessary equipment and materials 1-100 pounds, 50% of the time for required tasks.
- Potential exposure to extreme cold and hot temperatures, outside majority of the time.
- Manufacturing, pipeline, and refining environment.
- Fit and move in confined spaces, including tanks and vessels.
- Work is performed on limited or restricted surfaces.
- The use of X-ray machines.
- Exposure to noise above 85 decibels and intense odors.
- Exposure to areas with limited visibility.
- Use of respirator if position requires.
- Able to pass preliminary and periodic drug testing.
- Potential or Periodic amounts of time for the following:
- Walking on uneven terrain, with an average of two miles per day
- Standing
- Sit, stoop, crawl, and kneel.
- If driving is required, a valid driver’s license and proof of insurability are required. All drivers are subject to a DMV background records search.
