Job Overview

We are hiring immediately for full‑time ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT positions at Canteen.

Location: Canteen – 171 Covington Lane, Bloomingdale, IL 60108. Online applications are accepted only.

Schedule: Full time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. More details upon interview.

Pay Range: $21.00 to $23.00 per hour. Internal Employee Referral Bonus Available.

• Supports the Accounts Payable function (e.g., check runs, review entries).
• Reviews invoices for appropriate documentation and payment approval.
• Responds to vendor inquiries.
• Maintains reports, spreadsheets, and accounting files.
• Researches and resolves payment discrepancies.
• Makes necessary account adjustments.
• Prepares bank deposits and reconcilies bank statements.
• Follows up on aging accounts.
• Prepares and maintains financial transactions and month‑end accounting close entries.
• Develops and runs queries using Access and Excel.
• Prepares other accounting‑related reports as requested.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Previous accounting experience is a plus. Qualified candidates must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without a reasonable accommodation.
