About Us

Kirkby, Phelan & Associates is a tax, accounting, and financial services firm affiliated with LPL Financial. We take an integrated approach to helping clients manage their financial lives by combining tax planning, accounting, and investment advisory services under one roof. We're looking for a motivated Junior Financial Advisor to join our growing advisory team.

As an independent firm, we understand the importance of a trusted relationship with your financial advisor. Our clients enjoy access to an experienced and knowledgeable team that places a premium on listening carefully, responding quickly and planning effectively to provide them with superior service and financial guidance.

The Role

We're seeking a Junior Financial Advisor with approximately two years of relevant experience to support our advisory practice and work directly with clients on their financial planning and investment needs. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their advisory career to build a book of business within an established firm, with the built-in advantage of working alongside our tax and accounting professionals and their existing client relationships.

This is an in-office position.

What You'll Do
  • Assist senior advisors in preparing and delivering financial plans, investment recommendations, and portfolio reviews
  • Meet with clients to gather financial information, understand goals, and support ongoing relationship management
  • Help identify planning opportunities by working closely with our tax and accounting teams
  • Prepare account paperwork, maintain compliance documentation, and support onboarding for new clients
  • Conduct research on investment products, market trends, and planning strategies
  • Participate in client reviews and gradually take on greater client-facing responsibility as you grow in the role
  • Maintain accurate records within our CRM and portfolio management systems
  • Stay current on industry regulations, LPL platform updates, and compliance requirements
What We're Looking For
  • Approximately 2 years of experience in financial services, wealth management, or a related advisory role
  • Completion of the SIE (Securities Industry Essentials) Exam required
  • Series 65 or 66 license required (or Series 7 & 66); candidates actively pursuing licensure will be considered
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or related field
  • Working toward or interested in pursuing a CFP® designation (support provided)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a client-service mindset
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Comfortable working with financial planning software, CRM platforms, and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team-based, multi-disciplinary firm environment
  • High degree of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive client information
What We Offer
  • Competitive compensation package, including base salary and performance-based incentives
  • Direct mentorship from experienced advisors and access to LPL Financial's platform and resources
  • Support for licensing, continuing education, and professional designations (e.g., CFP®)
  • Health reimbursement arrangement and retirement plan upon eligibility
  • A clear growth path toward building your own client base within an established, multi-service firm
  • Collaborative environment with built-in referral opportunities from our tax and accounting practice
