MRI Technologist – Bloomingdale – Part Time, Evenings

Perform a variety of complex diagnostic MRI procedures under the direction of the radiologist, including routine MRIs and MRAs, patient history collection, IV contrast administration, and patient liaison duties.

- Perform quality assurance checks on equipment and procedure areas.
- Ensure MRI safety standards are met and ferromagnetic materials are outside the scan room.
- Explain emergency shutdown procedures and demonstrate fire and safety evacuations.
- Check patient transfer/transport equipment for compliance with safe operational standards.
- Operate required equipment to produce scans using established guidelines and MRI protocols.
- Complete necessary protocol ling tasks.
- Perform ordered examinations according to written MRI protocols and identify three unique identifiers.
- Provide patient education using layman’s terms and informational aids.
- Confirm MRI screening forms are verified and information is validated.
- Start IV access and inject media under physician direction, selecting appropriate IV site and catheter or needle per protocol.
- Record injection parameters and monitor injection according to established guidelines.
- Generate QA documentation (QR reports) when infiltration or reaction occurs.
- Prepare and position patient for procedure using established MRI protocols for highest quality image.
- Graduate of an accredited MRI education program.
- ARRT Registered Technologist, RT(MR) or ARMRIT Certified Technologist required.
- BLS – Basic Life Support, AED Adult & Pediatric CPR required.
- Minimum of one year MRI imaging experience.
- Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequent bending/stooping, reaching overhead.
- Attention to detail and ability to write legibly.
- Ability to lift/push/pull 50-100 lbs and manipulate MRI coils/table and accessory equipment.
- Reach equipment at heights >6 feet and assist in moving patients to and from MRI table.
- Communicate with other personnel and initiate timely response to audible alarms.
- Ability to perform multitasks simultaneously and maintain composure under stress.
The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $32.65-$49.00, with the actual pay determined by factors such as skills, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, bonuses, and other incentives.
