Under the general supervision of the Laboratory Director, Manager or Supervisor, the Phlebotomist I performs laboratory procedures in phlebotomy and other specimen collections, specimen processing, and other general duties as necessary.

• Perform phlebotomy on adult and pediatric patients using aseptic protocols and proper labeling.
• Monitor phone and voic mail messages.
• Monitor collection supply inventory and order supplies as necessary.
• Receive patients professionally and courteously using AIDET.
• Perform specimen centrifugation, processing, and prep for reference lab transportation.
• Utilize computer skills to accurately access patient/testing information.
• Produce patient demographic sheet and prepare paperwork to accompany specimens.
• Maintain a clean patient and working environment.
• Perform other assigned duties as needed.

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• National Phlebotomy Certification or qualified to sit for certification exam preferred.
• Prior experience as a Phlebotomist or equivalent combination of certified phlebotomy school and work experience in healthcare preferred.
• Moderate knowledge of medical terminology, excellent verbal and written communication skills preferred.

Base pay range: $17.65‑26.50 per hour. Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, bonuses, and other incentives. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package.
