The Village of Bloomingdale is pleased to announce recruitment for the position of Assistant Village Administrator/Human Resources Director. This executive-level position will be actively involved in the day-to-day operations of the Village, with particular focus on Human Resources, Labor Relations, Communications, Finance, and Budgeting.

The Assistant Village Administrator/Human Resources Director will manage special projects assigned by the Village Administrator, exercise direct supervisory responsibilities within the organization, and interact regularly with elected officials.

Salary Range and Benefits

$112,340 – $171,808 (Dependent on Qualifications). This is a full-time, exempt, salaried position. The Village offers an excellent benefits package including participation in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF), health, prescription, dental, and vision insurance (also available to dependents), life insurance, paid holidays, and paid vacation, sick, and personal days.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or Human Resources Management
  • Master’s Degree preferred
  • Minimum of five (5) years of municipal and Human Resources management experience, preferably in local government
  • A Master’s Degree in Public or Business Administration may substitute for one (1) year of experience
  • An equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered
About Bloomingdale

The Village of Bloomingdale is a home-rule municipality that has operated under a Village President, Board of Trustees, and Village Administrator form of government since 1833. The Village Administrator coordinates the operations of an organization consisting of 127 full-time and 10 part-time employees. The FY26 Budget totals $52.46 million, including $16.43 million in capital outlays.
