- Operates and performs changeovers on lines/equipment within required timelines, follows work instructions, standards and SOPs for equipment set up and changeover, and identifies and resolves issues during set up and changeover.
- Prepares work area at beginning of shift and cleans up at shift end or after production runs; sanitizes all food contact surfaces between product changes; ensures availability of required materials and supplies using lift trucks, hand jacks and other equipment once certifications are achieved.
- Operates equipment, including troubleshooting and making adjustments according to established work standards; cleans and assembles equipment per SOP.
- Conducts quality checks at regular intervals; inspects ingredients and finished product to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Truthfully and legibly completes required paperwork, written and electronic reports (Excel, Word, PCDA, Oracle, etc.).
- Reduces downtime by ensuring tasks are performed promptly, safely and efficiently.
- Performs operator scheduled maintenance checklist.
- Diagnoses and performs minor machine maintenance, makes necessary adjustments; works closely with maintenance when escalation is needed.
- Submits daily report of duties performed and production quantities.
- Identifies and submits suggestions to improve efficiencies, quality and safety.
- Participates in root cause analysis and other plant continuous improvement initiatives; recommends and assists with implementing improvement ideas.
- Complies with safety requirements, GMP, and SOPs/WIs for work area.
- Conducts quality checks at regular intervals; inspects filled containers and finished product to ensure packaging compliance.
- Assists coworkers in setting up machines, stacking, marking, packing, and transporting finished product.
- Examines product for identity and impurities; weighs ingredients using calibrated scales; mixes ingredients following appropriate methods.
- Follows batch instructions or deviations on BPR to meet specifications via reactors, blenders, mixers, FITZMILL, metal detector, sifter, roller compactor, rotary press, oscillating granulator, tote tumbler, lift truck, hand jack, and other equipment; notifies supervisor of concerns.
- Records all item and lot numbers on production tickets; documents and updates mix tickets; enters information into the computer system accurately.
- Transfers raw materials into appropriate totes or tanks; labels bulk containers; keeps QC and R&D informed to ensure correct amounts and recommends improvements.
Supports a culture of safe production and exhibits safe work practices. Actively participates in safety programs, reports incidents immediately, and maintains use of personal protective equipment.

Education and Experience- High school diploma or GED and six (6) months of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination.
- Prior experience operating blending/processing and/or packaging machines/equipment preferred.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably food or pharmaceuticals, preferred.
Certification as a Machine Operator in one (1) to three (3) Packaging and/or Processing areas (any combination). Proven ability through certification to operate equipment, set up, run, adjust machines, conduct timely quality checks, perform maintenance, complete paperwork, and perform sanitation and changeover.
Technical Skills- Language: ability to communicate professionally in writing and speaking.
- Mathematical: basic arithmetic, measurement, rate, ratio, percent.
- Reasoning: apply common sense, problem‑solving.

Skills:
basic mechanical understanding, operate hand‑operated electronic lifting equipment, basic computer and data entry skills, flexible schedule including weekends.
Packaging
- Lift up to 20 lbs. from 5 in. to 47 in.; up to 20 lbs. at 30 in.; ascend/descend stairs with 30 lbs.; etc.
- Other lift ranges specified.
Processing
- Similar lift ranges as above.
Work Environment
- Movement near mechanical parts, exposure to aromas, dust, airborne particles; moderate noise level.
