Full-Time School Nurse

Marklund in Bloomingdale is hiring a Full-Time School Nurse (RN or LPN) at the Marklund Day School in Bloomingdale, IL. The School Nurse addresses the health needs of students and coordinates with staff, families, healthcare providers, and community agencies to provide a comprehensive school health program that facilitates the appropriate educational opportunity for students.

Hours:

8 am‑4 pm, Monday‑Friday. Hourly rate: $29.25‑$34 / hr for LPN, $31.25‑$36 / hr for RN based on qualifications and experience.

Marklund is a nonprofit organization that provides residential, educational and therapy services to infants, children, teens and adults with serious and profound developmental disabilities and special healthcare needs. With three residential locations—Marklund Hyde Center, Marklund Philip Center and Marklund Wasmond Center—it currently serves nearly 178 residents. The Marklund Day School offers Multi‑Needs and Life Skills programs for children and young adults with multiple medical needs, and those diagnosed on the autism spectrum.

Marklund's Day School recently opened a 12,000‑square‑foot state‑of‑the‑art building addition in Bloomingdale. The school welcomes dedicated and caring Paraprofessionals to work with students in Life Skills/Autism and multi‑needs programs. It serves students ages Pre‑K‑22 through partnerships with Chicago suburban school districts, providing individualized support and specialized curriculum.

• Administer medications
• Provide tube feedings and treatments as prescribed
• Prepare annual health history for students as needed
• Attend student IDT and IEP meetings as required
• Complete daily documentation as required

• Registered Nurse (RN/BSN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with current registration on the Illinois Health Care Worker Registry
• Current BLS CPR certification for Healthcare Workers
• Proficient First Aid skills
• Preferably IDPH certified to perform annual vision screening
• Prior nursing experience in a school setting desired
• Ability to perform essential functions of the job and meet functional and environmental requirements
