SUMMARY
The Key Account Sales Manager will play a pivotal role in driving growth across major accounts within multiple industries, with a particular emphasis on the defense sector. This position focuses on expanding high-end machine tool sales, including automation and turnkey solutions, while strengthening executive-level relationships. The role requires strategic thinking, in-depth industry knowledge, and the ability to deliver impactful solutions that align with client needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute account-focused sales strategies that align with corporate objectives.
- Drive sales growth in advanced machine tools, automation, and customized turnkey solutions.
- Build and strengthen relationships with decision-makers at major accounts, particularly within defense contracting organizations.
- Leverage expertise in government procurement and contracting processes to position the company competitively.
- Work alongside distributor partners to design and implement joint sales initiatives with regular performance reviews.
- Represent the organization at trade shows, conferences, and industry networking events.
- Host key account visits at domestic and international facilities, ensuring positive customer experiences.
- Deliver persuasive presentations and proposals to executive-level stakeholders.
- Track competitor activity and provide insights into market trends and defense-related opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field required; advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience within the machine tool industry, with at least 7 years in sales or account management.
- Proven track record of success working with government contractors and defense organizations.
- Strong network of executive-level contacts within defense and related industries.
- Deep understanding of defense procurement cycles, compliance, and contracting requirements.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage C-level and government stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; international business experience is a plus.
- Strong collaboration, cultural adaptability, and relationship management skills.
