Mechanical Design Engineer
Join our innovative team as a Mechanical Design Engineer where you will collaborate with design resources and lead engineers to develop machine and system concepts. You will engage in research on new technologies, industry processes, and compliance regulations. Your role will involve conducting design feasibility reviews, specifying components, and assembling bills of materials for complex machine assemblies.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with the design team and lead engineers to develop machine and system concepts.
- Research new technologies, industry processes, and compliance regulations.
- Conduct design feasibility reviews.
- Specify components and build bills of materials for complex machine assemblies.
- Assemble system design drawings.
- Perform simple FEA analysis on structural assemblies.
- Utilize theoretical calculation tools to determine static and dynamic force requirements.
- Conduct design review meetings.
- Assemble detailed assembly, weldment, and part drawings.
- Draft and assemble project documentation packages, including operator's manuals.
- Support product-specific initiatives such as improved functionality and cost reduction.
- Conduct client review meetings to assess product utility and gather customer feedback.
- 3+ years of experience in mechanical design.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
- Proficiency in FEA analysis.
- Project management skills.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, preferred.
- Experience designing stainless steel enclosures and systems for pharmaceutical, food, and hazardous material handling applications.
- Aspiration to grow into a project leadership role.
- Ability to design stainless steel frames and flexible enclosures with consideration for manufacturability and leak prevention.
You will work in a small, dynamic division focused on single-use components for food, drug, and pharmaceutical operations. The team is involved in designing flexible enclosures and isolators with stainless steel frames. Our division values growth and offers potential for advancement into project management roles. You will be part of a close-knit team where collaboration and initiative are highly valued.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bloomington, IL.
Pay and BenefitsPay range: $30.00 - $45.00/hr.
