Responsibilities- Under the direction of the VP of Finance, responsible for providing Ag Finance leadership, credit administration, and profitable marketing of credit programs as a sales tool.
- Provides leadership and coordination of activities to employees engaged in credit processes and the marketing of credit
- Manage all aspects of Ag Finance and related programs to ensure compliance with Evergreen FS Inc. internal policies. Position and establish Ag Finance as an effective sales and marketing tool.
- Develop and administer company Credit policy and procedures and ensure compliance by all employees.
- Document, enhance and implement processes and procedures to assess credit worthiness of potential customers, monitor existing customers, ensure timely collection of revenues, and minimize bad debt losses.
- Recommend and implement proper internal credit controls and procedures to limit company credit exposure and to maximize System Credit Administration Goals.
- Provide leadership and training on sound credit practices, Ag Finance marketing programs and assist sales force in using finance to target customers/prospects to sell products and services.
- Routinely provide all necessary reporting to keep management and sales force abreast of delinquent accounts and credit exposure.
- Determines work procedures for credit and collections. Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency.
- Coordinates activities of other employees in related credit activities.
- Stay updated on legal and regulatory changes related to credit management.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
- Normally requires a bachelor’s degree in Ag Business, Accounting, Finance, or the equivalent thereof, and at least 3 years of accounting or finance related area to demonstrate financial leadership, organization, planning and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding and experience in credit administration, financial analysis, decision making, risk analysis, cost/benefit analysis, internal controls and audit strategy, compliance, and collection procedures along with Agri-Finance marketing.
- Demonstrated leadership and team building skills and the ability to get work done through others and independently.
- Proven professional communication, customer service, persuasion, and presentation skills.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, peers, and customers.
- Demonstrated organization, planning, problem-solving skills, and ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Proven computer skills and the ability to use the computer to enhance business processes.
- Demonstrated core competencies including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
