Medical Assistant and Front Desk

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant and Front Desk professional to join our healthcare team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic clinical environment, providing essential patient care and administrative support. The ideal candidate will have experience in a private office setting, familiarity with EHR systems, and a strong understanding of medical terminology and patient service.

Candidates with background in OBGYB office situations are highly preferred. This position is integral to ensuring smooth clinic operations and delivering exceptional patient experiences.

• Greet patients warmly and efficiently manage check-in and check-out processes at the front desk
• Collect patient information, verify insurance details, and schedule appointments
• Assist with patient intake procedures, including recording vital signs and updating medical histories
• Prepare examination rooms and assist healthcare providers during patient examinations
• Perform basic clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, administering medications as directed, and assisting with specimen collection
• Maintain accurate documentation within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, including ICD coding and medical histories
• Support physicians with procedures such as X-ray preparation or medication administration when applicable
• Manage phone calls, respond to patient inquiries, and coordinate follow-up appointments
• Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain a clean clinical environment
• Support administrative functions including billing support, data entry, and managing patient flow

• Proven experience in outpatient clinics or hospital settings such as Geriatrics, Medical-surgical units, PICU, or Level I/II Trauma Centers
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding, and medication administration
• Familiarity with EHR systems and medical administrative support functions
• Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations
• Ability to perform clinical tasks such as taking vital signs and assisting with procedures like X-ray or alteration medicine protocols
