Multiple, Tenured, Associate or Full Professors in Computer Engineering
Indiana University Bloomington (IUB) invites applications for multiple, tenured faculty positions in the field of computer engineering. These positions are part of a strategic initiative to launch and support our new Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering program.
We seek exceptional candidates whose research and teaching interests align with one or more of the following critical areas:
- Computer Architecture – including in‑ and near‑memory processing, circuit/technology impacts, quantum, superconducting, machine learning, edge computing, and security/privacy in computer architecture.
- Digital Logic Design and VLSI – including ASIC/FPGA design for cyber‑physical systems, System‑on‑Chip, multi‑die architectures, accelerator‑based computing, emerging device technologies, low‑power design, and secure hardware/software systems.
- Operating Systems and Systems Software – covering operating systems, file and storage systems, AI/ML systems, distributed/cloud/mobile systems, secure/reliable systems, big data, embedded systems, virtualization, networking, and complex system management.
- Analog and Mixed‑Signal Electronics – including circuits for AI/ML workloads, analog converters, RF/wireless/wireline systems, imagers, MEMS, medical/display circuits, power management, 2.5D/3D integration, and secure computing designs.
Successful applicants will develop an independent, externally funded research program, teach undergraduate and graduate courses in their area of expertise, and contribute to the continued growth of our computer engineering curriculum.
These 10‑month appointments would ideally start August 1, 2026, though an earlier or later start date is negotiable. Applications received by October 1, 2025, will receive full consideration, and applications will be accepted until the positions are filled.
ResponsibilitiesTenured faculty are expected to substantially contribute to the overall academic excellence of their department by developing and/or maintaining a robust research portfolio, obtaining major extramural research funding, teaching and mentoring a diverse student population at the undergraduate and/or graduate level, and actively providing service within the department, school, and university. Engagement with the profession and community is also expected.
Basic Qualifications- Doctoral degree in computer engineering, computer science, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- For associate and full professor positions, a sustained record of scholarly leadership and impact appropriate for a senior career level.
- Demonstrated excellence in research, teaching, and service.
